Fleece Navidad
A knitting mystery #6

by Maggie Sefton

The Fort Connor, Colorado knitters are working frantically to make mittens and hats for the Christmas charity sale.   The town librarian Juliet, aka "the little brown wren," has produced her special knitted capes, but more importantly, she is in love with a widower named Jeremy.

New to the circle of friends at the House of Lambspun is Claudia Miller, outspoken widow of three husbands, who informs everyone that she is on the lookout for husband #4.  She thinks she has found him in Juliet's Jeremy.

When Juliet is found killed by a hit-and-run driver, suspicion falls on this newcomer. It is up to Kelly and her crew to find the truth, which is both surprising and damning.

Fleece Navidad is an enjoyable cozy mystery with a wonderful cast of characters with only too human likes and dislikes. Enjoyable as the story is, it would be more enjoyable for a knitter, with its references to knitting stitches, patterns and types of wool.  The interaction between Kelly and Jenny and the teenagers in producing the nativity program is a source of humor and understanding.

Included are several knitting patterns, delicious recipes, and even a recipe for the family pet.
