Three tales from the Women's Murder Club grace Volume 2 of this collection. First up is The 4th of July. followed by The Fifth Horseman and topped off with The 6th Target.

In The 4th of July, Homicide Lt. Lindsay Boxer and her former partner, Warren Jacoby, go to the scene of a car wreck.  The victims of the wreck were two kids, neither old enough to drive.  Both had been injured, but not enough to keep them from shooting both officers.   Lindsay returned fire, killing the girl and making the boy a quadriplegic.  Their parents sued, placing Lindsay's fate in the hands of a jury and her young lawyer, Yuki Castellano.

The Fifth Horseman is the story of a serial killer in a hospital.  The thing that sets this psycho apart is the habit of putting caduceus buttons on the victims’ eyelids after killing them.  Many of the victims had been admitted by the same doctor, but was he the killer?   Since one of the victims was the mother of the newest Murder Club member, Yuki Castellano, Lindsay wanted this killer as bad as Yuki did.

In The 6th Target, a man on the ferry shot five people, including San Francisco's Chief Medical Examiner, Claire Washburn.  Four died, but Claire survived.  Lindsay wanted to find the killer before he killed again. Imagine her surprise when Alfred Brinkley, the killer, came to her door to turn himself in.  Was he really insane or a calculating actor?

These stories are classic James Patterson.  They're well written with believable characters and fast-moving plots.  They are all compelling and you definitely will not be able to stop listening.  To me, each one is more intense than the last.  The endings are shocking, totally different than what I expected.  If you are new to James Patterson, these stories will make you a lifelong fan.  Get these disks and enjoy.
