Damage Control
Beaumont and Brady, # 13

by J.A. Jance

I had never read any of J.A. Jance's books prior to picking up this one, but I must say, I am hooked! From the first page to the last, this book weaves a tale of suspense that keeps you wondering how it will end.

Cochise County Sheriff Joanna Brady is a busy mom and wife, and also the keeper of the peace in a small southwestern town in Arizona.  As those of you who have visited that area of our country will know, there just isn't really anything out there.  Small towns dot the horizon from time to time, but not much else.  Keeping the peace takes up more of her day than she would have ever imagined, but Joanna loves her work.  Sheriff Brady's entire team gets involved to find the clues necessary to settle multiple mysteries. The who-done-it will totally surprise you.

This book begins with a shooting that takes the life of the wrong guy, followed by a staged and planned murder-suicide between a loving husband and wife.  Are these incidents connected, or are they unrelated and just a really bad day dawning?  This book will take you up one road and down another, from one county to the next and from the city to the country all in the course of finding out what is going on.  I found this to be a very fast paced and well written book.
