Two armed men enter the Heartsdale, Georgia police station and open fire, killing one policeman and seriously wounding Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver. Also present is a class of school children, who had been touring the station as a class project, as well asmedical examiner Dr Sara Linton, Chief Tolliver’s ex-wife.

In searching for answers to the attack, Sara finds herself re-examining a past visit she and Jeffrey had made a few years ago before they were married to Jeffrey's home town, Sylacango, Florida. There, they revisited a brutal crime which involved Jeffrey's boyhood friends and which now has come back to haunt them.
Indelible has a well-defined “Then and Now” format which explains what happened in the past and how it affects the present story. Indelible is also a gripping, realistic and believable story. Fair warning: there is much grisly detail which can be distracting.
