Victoria
Abbott is the mother –daughter duo of Mary
Jane Maffini and Victoria Maffini
Wouldn’t
it great to find a play that has never seen the light
of day by one of the world’s most beloved authors?
Wouldn’t you love to own it? Jordan Bingham is
tired of living with her not “squeaky clean”
uncles and living off of boxed mac and cheese. That
is why we find Jordan applying for a job with the most
hated woman in Harrison Falls, New York - Vera Van Alst.
What
happened to Alex Fine’s notes? He was the last
person researching the Christie play before his untimely
death. Were the notes on the stolen laptop? Is Jordan
putting herself in danger by continuing the search?
Will she find the answer or will she be booked?
Things
to ponder: Where does Vera Van Alst’s money come
from? Is it possible to write a play in eleven days?
Does Vera have a secret stash of Oreos hidden in her
bedroom? Is the play real or is this just a scam to
empty Vera’s deep pockets?
This
has got to be the most fun book I have read in a long
time. I love the character of Jordan and how she ticks.
It was fun to be on the search for the Christie play
and get to play detective with Jordan. I read this book
as slowly as possible to keep the magic alive. This
is a well-researched and written mystery. Be warned
– the food mentioned in the book will make you
crave the real thing and you might put on a few pounds.
Especially since some yummy recipes are included. So
if you are a fan of Agatha Christie or even if you are
not, then this is one book that should not be missed.
FYI the next book in this delightful series is called
The Sayers Swindle.
