Grandma Eleanor is getting married.
Nell Fitzgerald, as granddaughter and maid of honor, is handling
all the details. Everyone should be thrilled with the coming
nuptials. Things are going great until Nell spends the night
at her boyfriend Jesse’s house and they find a body
in a car right outside his house. It turns out Police Chief
Jesse Dewalt knew the deceased. It was his former partner
from his days in vice on the NYPD.
Jesse is not handling the death very well. Nell is trying
to help – but he keeps shutting her out. Looks like
the Friday night quilting group might be going back into the
detecting business. Nell better be careful solving this murder
or she could end up quartered.
Things to ponder: Why did Roger Leighton drive up to see
Jesse and not get out of his car? Is Eleanor really going
to retire? What will happen to Someday Quilts?
This is one of my very favorite series. I feel like I have
given myself a gift when I sit down and read A Someday Quilt
Mystery. Clare O’ Donohue does not disappoint. It is
a fast read that is well plotted. So, if you like your mystery
with a “quilty” touch, then you should be reading
The Double Wedding Ring.
