Times are tough at Sweet Nothings lingerie shop in Paris, Tennessee. A very expensive window repair put Emma Taylor and her aunt, Arabella, into the red. Arabella comes up with the idea to hold a trunk show, featuring vintage pieces and to hold it at the luxurious home of Deirdre Porter, daughter of the mayor.

The big spenders in town will be sure to attend the trunk show, as Deirdre is a well- known, albeit not well-loved, socialite. This event should have Sweet Nothings back in the black in one fell swoop.

Things don’t go as planned though, when the unpleasant Jessica Scott, administrator at Sunny Days Retirement Community, takes suddenly ill and shortly thereafter dies. Jessica was murdered by edible flower and everyone at the trunk show is suspect.

I really liked the first book in this series, and this sequel was just as good. It provides a light, easy read, with the usual cozy small town feel. The cast of characters are well-drawn, and the murder plausible. Humor and romance are sprinkled liberally through the story as well. This would be a good read for a lazy summer afternoon, or equally good for a rainy day holed up inside. I am already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Author Meg London also writes the Gourmet De-lite mystery series using her real name Peg Cochran.
