Minnie
Hamilton is ready to take her brand new bookmobile on its
maiden voyage. Everyone is thrilled with this new acquisition.
That is everyone except the library director. He was against
it from the start. Minnie found a wealthy donor to cover all
the expenses. Stan Larabee is a self-made man who has come
home to Chilson, MI and has funded the new bookmobile. Somehow,
Eddie, Minnie's rescue cat has become her companion on this
first trip on the bookmobile. Everyone loves the cat and the
books they are checking out. At the last stop, Eddie escapes
and Minnie finds him at an abandoned farm house. He is not
alone. On the floor is the body of a dead man - Stan Larabee.
Holly, Minnie's best friend at the library, asks Minnie to
help find the real killer so she will no longer be a prime
suspect. If Minnie is not careful investigating this murder,
she could end up permanently removed from the stacks.
Things to Ponder: Why was Stan at the abandoned farm house?
Why was Aunt Frances so upset by Stan's death? Will Minnie
be able to keep Eddie, who loves riding on the bookmobile,
a secret from Stephen?
I love finding a new author who has written a wonderful new
mystery series. This was a fun fast-paced read. The plotting
is stellar and I love the quirky characters. I found I could
not put this book down. The story will keep you guessing until
you find out whodunit. The author has provided plenty of red
herrings to keep you turning those pages. I am looking forward
to reading more books in this delightful new series. So if
you like your mystery on the go, then you should be reading
Lending A Paw.
