Charlotte,
Alex and Barrett attempt to rob the Hatton Garden jeweler.
Charlotte’s husband Tony is a former Soldier in need
of medical assistance. Once they sell the diamonds, she can
take Tony to America. Just as they attempt to rob the Jeweler,
two bikers show up, ready to rob the Jeweler as well. It turns
in to a battle of steel. When it’s over, the trio take
the jewelry and clear off quickly. Eventually they head to
Amsterdam and a buyer for the diamonds.
DI Andrew
Hill wants to create a national chain of gyms. He’s
ready to retire, but decides to take on one more case. The
Hatton Garden Jewelry case. Hill notices the crime scene is
clean, and the police file is lacking pictures and information.
Also, there is no CCTV footage. Hill interviews the local
businesses on the road and continues to research the case.
The investigation moves at a clip pace and has Hill following
the trio of thieves to what seems like a final show down.
James
Patterson & Rees Jones successfully deliver a story filled
with characters that garner a variety of reactions. Listeners/readers
will be blown away by the unexpected ending. Actor Colin Mace
delivers a compelling narration in the audio version of Heist.
I hope to hear more of him on future Patterson BookShots. |
