Maggie Sefton revisits Kelly Flynn
and the Lambspun Knitters in this 15th Knitting Mystery. This
time, a woman is brutally murdered on the golf course nearby
the Lambspun Yarn and Fiber Shop.
With Kelly nine months pregnant, there isn’t much she
can do for legwork when it comes to investigating the murder.
Unfortunately, if you are looking for a good murder mystery,
you won’t find it here. The murder is secondary to Kelly’s
pregnancy and her relationships with her friends and her boyfriend
and soon-to-be husband, Steve.
I’m afraid that I feel the same way I felt about the
last book I read in this series. There is too much repetition
of dialogue and description of colorful yarns, the weather,
where people are going to sit, and how much coffee or tea
Kelly will consume.
This was a great and fun series, with well- plotted murders.
Perhaps this is the last book. I don’t know that for
certain, but Sefton did a very good job of wrapping things
up for the main characters, and it wouldn’t be a bad
idea to end it now, with a happy ending for Kelly and for
her friends.
If you have read this whole series, or even several of the
books, it’s worth your time to read this. Even if the
mystery isn’t satisfying, you’ll enjoy finding
out what happens to Kelly, Steve, and the others.
