Lindsey
Norris is the library director of the Briar Creek Library
in Connecticut. While looking out the window of the library’s
“crafternoon” room at the back of the library,
Lindsey witnesses a hit-and-run accident. The victim is Theresa
Huston, a well-respected tennis coach. With no known enemies
it’s hard to imagine that someone deliberately targeted
Theresa, but after the second attempt on her life, the message
is clear: someone wants her dead.
The librarian and her beloved library both play a role in
this case. Some CDs which were checked out of the library
are found in the car used in the hit-and-run and the driver
is inside too, and what’s more, he’s been murdered!
When the chief of police asks for Lindsey’s help in
finding out who took the CDs out of the library, it gives
her an opening to dig further into the case and hopefully
find the killer before he or she goes after Theresa a third
time.
I always enjoy this series a lot. As characters relationships
evolve, and changes come to Briar Creek it’s a captivating
journey to a small town with each and every book. The mystery
is solid with just enough clues to keep you guessing until
the end.
You can’t go wrong with a Jenn McKinlay book. I highly
recommend this to cozy mystery buffs and to people who love
libraries! When you purchase your own copy, maybe you could
get one to donate to your library as well!
