Imagine waking up in a hospital
room, looking at the person that is sitting on your bedside, claiming to be
your spouse, and you do not remember a thing. This happened to Sara Shepard
Dawes. She married Jordan Dawes, a Texas Ranger as part of a plan to capture
a serial killer that killed her brother and her father. Sara did not remember
the plan until she was fully involved in trying to capture the killer.
As Sara, with Jordan's help, was trying to recapture her memory, she felt intense
feelings towards her new groom. Jordan, despite the fact that he was married
in name only and knew that he was going to have to go back and be a Texas Ranger,
shared the same intense feelings as Sara.
I felt that the lust and wanting feelings began too quickly in the story. By
the end, the romance was running smooth and there was no awkwardness. The telling
of the mystery of the serial killer was terrific. There were a lot of twists
and turns that would keep a reader on their toes. It was mentioned several times
in the book who the person or persons had to be affiliated with in order to
do the killings that they had done but it did not detract from the story and
kept the reader trying to figure out who the killer was.
