WINTER FIRE is Zara Grey's story. As a young child, she had watched her family massacred in an Indian raid. She had been captured and taken back to live with the Indians. She had grown up to become a beautiful woman with green eyes and honey-colored hair. But this was her outward appearance. On the inside she was a 'white Indian', assimilated into the tribe who had captured her. Fifteen years later, she was 'rescued' and taken back to the white world. Life as Zara had come to know it was no more.

From the moment I picked up WINTER FIRE and read the prologue, I knew it was going to be one of those books that I could not put down. It has been a long time since I have read a book that I enjoyed as thoroughly as I did this fantastic novel created by Kathy Fischer-Brown. Ms. Fischer-Brown has such a delightful way with words that I was transported back in time to the days of early America - the days of conflict between the original people of this world and the people who came to inhabit it. You will not be disappointed with WINTER FIRE. It will become on of your favorite books just as it has become one of my favorites. I look forward with anticipation to future novels by Ms. Kathy Fischer-Brown.
