The
Heartbreaker
By Carly
Phillips
Chase
Chandler - handsome son number three of the three Chandler men.
Raina
Chandler - Chase's meddling mother who spent her time trying to
get her sons married off in order to produce grandchildren for her.
Sloane
Carlisle - the beautiful senator's daughter who discovered that
her whole life has been a lie.
Chase
has finally come to the point in his life when he could shrug off
the responsibility for the Chandler family that he took on when
his father died. He finally had the opportunity to pursue his dreams
that had been on hold since he was eighteen. He was not about to
get involved with any woman who wanted the white picket fence and
children. He had raised his brothers, so to speak, and that was
enough for him. He was ready to take on the world to be the hotshot
reporter that he had never had the opportunity to be. He was through
with small town life; the world would be his stage.
Sloane
plays the part of the dutiful daughter of a famous senator to perfection.
However, inside, she wonders why she seems so different from the
rest of her family. On the eve of her father's announcement that
he was going to be running for Vice-President, she finds out exactly
why she is so different. Her life spins out of control with the
discovery. The answer to the secrets and the betrayal are waiting
to be discovered in the little town of Yorkshire Falls, New York.
Neither
Chase nor Sloan can deny the hot flames of desire that sizzle between
them from their first accidental meeting - and the consequent one-night
stand that they allowed to happen. However, it is the wrong place
and time for them. Neither of them is looking for a relationship.
Nevertheless, love has a way of finding even those who fight against
it.
Carly Phillips has once again produced
a best seller with The Heartbreaker, the last book in the Chandler
Men series. I like this one even better than I liked the first two,
The Bachelor and The Playboy.
