Someone
Like Him
By Karen

Nick
Wright just received his inheritance from his favorite aunt. It
is a Doberman Pinscher named "Daffodil." From her gaudy
rhinestone collar to the tips of her crimson toenails, this is one
pampered poochie. What is Nick going to do with a dog? He's never
had a dog. He's never even wanted a dog. Nick grew up in boarding
schools and now lives in a pet-free penthouse. So he takes the logical
first step and places a want ad for a dog-sitter.
It
took Lavender, "Vinnie," Hart exactly 59 minutes to lose
her first job in the Big Apple. Now she's in a panic! She must find
another job immediately. Otherwise she won't be able to afford to
keep her little brother, Adam, in his new boarding school. She scopes
out the want ads.
Vinnie's
job interview with Nick gets off to a hilarious start when she rescues
him from the middle of a duck pond. She follows up by telling him
a whopper of a story about life in the circus. Despite his misgivings,
Nick hires Vinnie out of desperation. Life is good. Then Vinnie's
bizarre roommate frightens her into moving out. She has nowhere
to go. Nick takes her in. Unbeknownst to him, little brother Adam
is so miserable at boarding school that he's now living with Vinnie
too.
Vinnie
wants to save the world. She gives part of her heart to every person
she meets. Now she has given her whole heart to Nick, a man who
has no heart. It was slowly ripped out of him as a child. His parents
had ignored him and shipped him off to boarding school at the youngest
age possible. Nick has made it clear that he has no intention of
ever marrying. Marriage is all that Vinnie has ever dreamed of.
How can two such opposites ever work things out?
This
was a fun read filled with unusual characters and steamy sex. After
reading Someone Like Him, I will never again be able to
look at a bowl of fruit without blushing! It's a great book.
