Stories
from the Heart
By Storyheart
(aka Barry Eva)
Author
Barry Eva does a fine job of spinning yarns of love and passion
in his book of "Love Stories," as he calls them. He has
a way of taking the mundane, common-place things of everyday life
and turning them into memories that will melt your heart.
Several of his stories deal with angels,
which is a favorite theme of mine. His angels, however, are not
of the "other-worldly" type, but are found among those
who live amongst us. It leaves the reader wondering how many of
the people in our own lives are really angels-in-disguise. Surely
some of the people who are so important as we travel this planet
day by day are in the "suspect" category.
I think,
however, that my favorite story was "Summer Dreams." It
is about a very young couple, who were walking along the beach,
very much in love. They exchanged two very simple gifts, made by
their hands-and their hearts. The story ends years later, when he
finds the item tucked back in a drawer. His wife calls to him, awakening
him from his memories. You can not help but smile, and perhaps even
shed a well-intentioned tear, when you realize that the wife of
his later years is the young woman from the shore.
If you
want to feel good about life in general, and if you wonder if such
a thing as true love really exists at all in this world of trouble
and bad news, you must read Stories from the Heart.
