Without
a Clue
By Chris
Glover
When
Paula Sinclair's brother, Eric, was killed by a car bomb, he was
supposed to have in his possession a priceless manuscript his grandfather
had purchased. No trace of the manuscript was found in the debris
of the car.
Paula
is convinced that the manuscript was not with Eric, and is determined
to find it. Its loss will bankrupt her grandfather's book store.
In her search she hires Luc
Dupre, who is recommended by the French police. She is unaware that
Luc is also anxious to locate the manuscript for his family.
There
is a deep attraction between the two, but Paula has doubts about
Luc's involvement with the police.
She
discovers that there are others who are desperate to obtain the
manuscript. This places her in jeopardy.
This
is a well constructed story with a believable plot. The characters
are portrayed with their human weaknesses. The romance between Luc
and Paula is filled with doubts and emotion.
Interesting
sidelights are presented about the auctions of antiquities.
