The
Beachcomber
By Josephine
Cox
Tom
Marcus's life was destroyed in an instant when an unknown assailant
forced his family car off the road and over a cliff. A year has
passed since the horrific accident, and Tom, the sole survivor,
still feels as though he is just going through the motions of life.
He decides to pick up the pieces of his shattered existence by a
change of scenery. He quits his job and leaves London for a seaside
village in West Bay.
The
death of Kathy Wilson's father has left a void in her life. She
is stunned when her mother cruelly informs her that the father she
held in such high regard had led a secret life with another woman.
The
deed to the cottage the two had shared has been willed to her and
Kathy is convinced that this is her father's way of providing the
happiness that has been lacking from her life. It's also a way to
escape the taunts of her mother and sister.
Both
Kathy and Tom are running from inner demons and unspeakable heartache.
Will they be given a chance to heal the cruel, open wounds?
Josephine
Cox, now one of my favorite authors, has masterfully intertwined
the lives of the characters and their emotions in a way that makes
the reader able to experience every heart-rending event. I look
forward to more books by this talented author. The book has earned
a high place on my "keeper" shelf. Very highly recommended.
