Lacey
Jarrell has come from England to marry Grady Dalton. Although Grady
never set her heart to pounding, it was better than the alternative.
Her father had wanted her to marry a vicious Englishman. No sooner
had she set foot in Colorado Territory, on her way to her intendeds
ranch, she was being robbed by outlaws.
Slade
Dalton is a bounty hunter, and one with a past. Ten years ago, his
father was killed protecting him, but Slade was making his way back
to lay claim to the family ranch. One look at the English woman,
and he is instantly smitten. Slade rescues Lacey from the outlaws,
and she leaves him without a backward glance. Not one he could see
anyway.
When Slade returns to the ranch, there sits Lacey, and he discovers
the English beauty is meant for his brother. Lacey is unable to
deny what she feels for Slade, and discovering her intended was
a brute didn’t help matters. Slade and Lacey find love, and
through determination alone, Slade claims her for his own, and gets
the upper hand on his conniving brother in the process.
Absolutely one of the best western
reads ever. I was thoroughly entranced with Slade and Lacey. There
were extremely emotional moments, only to make you laugh by the
next paragraph. The characters and their actions will reach out
and grab you. This is an awesome read, and one you can return to
again, without loosing interest.
