Highland Princess
By Amanda Scott

Chicanery is afoot in Highland Princess, when Mairi, daughter of the Lord of the Isles, meets a son of the clan Gillean. Lachlan Lubanach teases, taunts, and utterly ignores her right to be heard. She is a woman, and therefore she must allude to the men in her life for all things. Phooey! on that, and a double kick to the arse if the Scottish warrior of wits believes she will fall into his arms and his plans to marry.

Lachlan knows a good thing when he sees it. Mairi will not only bring to their marriage various holdings, respect as the commander of her father's army, but also will grace his home and heart with her beauty and seductive lure. He wants her, but first he has to win her. Bedding her t'would be a simple matter. Convincing her father that her betrothal to another should be broken and that Mairi should be his could prove to be more of a challenge than he can handle.

A lovely medieval tale that pairs an outspoken and sassy maid with a man who believes in using his wits first, and when all else fails, he fights for what he wants. Throw in a dastardly villain, humor, and murder and you have a wonderful tale of love.
