In My Heart
By Melody Thomas
Lady Alexandra
‘Alex" Marshall’s heart was lost to a common servant
of the crown—an Irishman. He filled her head with dreams of
the future and claimed her hand in marriage. Her father was enraged
when he learned of the nuptials. He forced the two apart, banished
the groom, and requested an annulment. Heartbroken, she continued
with her life but she never forgot him. Years later, her days are
spent working in a British Museum. She is content to fill her lonely
days with her work. When a fortune in jewels and priceless artifacts
turns up missing, she reports it to her Supervisor. He blames her
for the disappearance and she finds that it is necessary to prove
her innocence.
Sir Christopher Donally
is known as the owner of a successful architecture company. His
business is thriving and fast becoming the talk of society. He never
expected to see the one woman who refused to leave him mind –
Alex Marshall. It had been ten years since they had last seen each
other. Time did not erase the passionate feelings that still burned
bright in his mind. He finds that she has been accused of a crime
he knows she didn’t commit. When she asks for his assistance
to help solve the mystery, he readily agrees. As the past and present
are brought back together, will there be hope for the future?
Melody Thomas has written a superior
example of a historical romance that one will never forget. Her
heart felt characters, locked in the mist of conflict and turmoil
will draw you into the story. Mystery and romance readers will not
want to pass this one by, for it is filled with the elements that
they find in very few books. Very highly recommended.
