A
Loving Scoundrel
By Johanna Lindsey
Danny
is a young woman with no memory of her life before she became a
thief. What little she did remember seemed more a nightmare. Living
with a gang of thieves, all of different ages, they all did their
parts to help with food and such. Danny’s job however, disguised
as a boy, was to steal from the patrons who slept in the inn. She
did this very well, had been for 15 years. But on this night, something
more awaited in the room. And a thief was hired to be a thief.
Jeremy
Mallory knew almost immediately he was not dealing with a boy. But
she was a thief and would suit his purpose. But once the deed was
done, he was shocked to find her pounding on his bedroom door and
then demanding a job. Since he was partly responsible for her being
kicked out of her gang, he hires her as his maid. But Jeremy wants
Danny for more than making his bed.
When rumors threaten
to shackle Jeremy in a marriage, Danny steps in and helps to save
the day, and looses her heart in the process. Old enemies Danny
never knew she had surface. Twice her life is threatened, and Jeremy
saves her. Together they solve the mystery of Danny’s past,
and together they look towards a future.
“A Loving
Scoundrel” is the latest, greatest installment in the Mallory
saga. Jeremy and Danny fit each other perfectly. Jeremy always intrigued
me in the previous novels, and Danny was just the right type of
woman for him. As always, if you love your romance with humor, drama,
even suspense, you cannot go wrong with this one. Johanna Lindsey
and her characters get more exciting with every book.
