The
Beauty Bride
By
Claire Delacroix
Lady
Madeline of Kinfairlie becomes a bartered bride when her own kin
sells her to the highest bidder. The betrayal she feels at her brother's
actions, however, is nothing compared to the emotion, Rhys FitzHenry,
her new owner, stirs inside her maiden's body. Lust is all he can
invoke, for her heart belongs to another. Her presumed to be dead
fiancé is the only man who can claim her love.
Rhys'
had no plans to buy a wife, but he needs Madeline to insure he inherits
Caerwyn. She doesn't know it, but she could be the rightful heir.
What he thinks is a simple plan turns troublesome when the beautiful
lass flees to avoid their nuptials. He follows and discovers the
lady in danger of losing her virtue and life.
Madeline
is grateful for Rhys's assistance but still isn't sure she wants
to wed him, but with her reputation in shreds, she has no choice.
His kisses woo her and when the opportunity arises, she says I do
with an expectant heart. She is outraged when he informs her that
if she doesn't produce an heir, he will have no compunction in turning
to other women to insure he doesn't lose Caerwyn.
Ms.
Delacroix knows her history and spins a wonderful tale of betrayal,
distrust and love. Her secondary characters are top of the line
and the introduction of a displeased fairy adds zing to an already
super read.
