Bonfire of the Vampires
by Jennifer Colgan
Abby Shore finds Jake Beaumont, in
the park, after being mugged, and she makes sure that he gets medical
attention. They then become good friends and business partners. Three
years later, Abby and Jake are celebrating the Christmas holidays.
They have remained just friends over the years, even though they both
have deeper feelings for each other. Gideon Price is Jake's business
partner and best friend, but he dislikes Abby as intensely as Jake
adores her.
Abby has another job in addition
to running the Treasure Trove. She is a vampire slayer. Much to
her chagrin she receives a new assignment from her client. The vampire
she is hired to slay is Jake Beaumont, the only problem is that
Abby did not know that he is a vampire until then. More importantly,
she knows that this is an assignment that she will not complete
because of her love for Jake.
Bonfire of the Vampires
is an exhilarating paranormal romance. The entanglements between
Jake, Gideon, and Abby become more complex as the story unfolds.
Colgan creates an interesting world in which humans and vampires
interact, while each maintains their own distinct cultures. The
plot moves along quickly and the ending is predictable but not disappointing.
I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy the paranormal
romance genre. |
