Kyi
has spent the past two hundred years in the dark as a woman vampire.
Born to a witch, Kyi and her twin lived the Manor House, but when
Kyi was turned into a young vampire, her mother spent her life trying
to perfect a potion to turn Kyi back to a mortal. However, to no
avail, she worked on this until her death. Before her death, she
told Kyi of a prophecy where she will fall in love only to be betrayed.
However when she finds where she truly belongs, things will turn
out right. This prophecy will come to pass after Kyi has lived two
hundred years involving the person responsible, for the fact that
her family will forever have to protect her. Jared Cohen is the
leader of the Realm, and has forever tried to get Kyi. However,
the descendants of her aunts have always taken their responsibility
for Kyi very seriously and have done everything they can to protect
her inside the walls of the Manor House.
Jade
Cohen is accustomed to getting what he wants. Although raised in
an orphanage, he came into his inheritance from his deceased parents
at the age of twenty-five. However even before that, he never had
trouble attracting females. More than that, he has always felt like
there was something paranormal about him. Although he has never
been able to figure out exactly what it is, he sometimes feels things
and knows before hand when something is going to happen. On this
night, he is determined to write he feels drawn to visit the bar
in town. There upon entering he sees the most beautiful woman. Upon
seeing her, he knows she will not fall at his feet as other women
do. He will have to make the first move.
Kyi
has never sought company in town. Usually she goes two to three
towns over when she is seeking male company but this night something
is pulling her. Upon meeting Jade, she realizes what it is. The
Prophecy is coming true. However, Kyi is determined to keep him
away. She does not want to fall in love only to be betrayed. When
she finds out that Jade, unknowingly, is the descendant of Jared
Cohen to have a year with Jade before his great-grandfather tries
to bring him into the Realm. She is determined to keep Jade from
becoming a vampire unless he chooses to do so, but she will not
be the one to turn him. Little does she know as to how her lover
will betray her.
Above
you will read a little of some of the things that will go on in
this wonderful story. However, I must say there is no way this intriguing
tale can be summed up in just a few paragraphs. AngeliQue Shatzel
has given us one very fast paced, magnificently written, intriguing
vampire and witches tale that you will have you hooked from the
beginning. With an extraordinary plot and amazing characters including
Kyi's four legged friend Mesha, this story will have any reader
on the edge of their seat. This is one reviewer that really enjoys
reading vampire tales and I was not disappointed as I read Call
To Me and I can hardly wait for the next book in AngeliQue's
upcoming vampire sequels. Ms. Shatzel has a way of writing that
will just pull the reader into the story leaving wishing the story
did not have to end...
