The
Care & Feeding of Pirates
By
Jennifer Ashley
The title of this
book may have you wondering what exactly it is about, but as you
read you will quickly realize where the title comes from.
Honoria Ardmore was surprised
to look out across the street and see the face of pirate Christopher
Raine. After all, she knew her brother James had the pirate hung
four years before. She believed she was seeing his ghost, until
he showed up in her bedroom. The one thing these two have always
had together was an intense sexual attraction. It seems they are
unable to touch each other with out wanting to make love. Honoria
thought he was dead, hung the day they had secretly wed years before.
Now she is engaged and ready to leave her brother's home to settle
down. Although she is not in love with her betrothed, she feels
it is time.
However, Christopher is ready to claim all
that is his, which includes his wife, the lovely Honoria. After
making his way back from China where he had been sent he is determined
to get his ship and crew back together in order to find the gold
that was hidden years before when he was captured by the pirate
hunter James Ardmore.
Honoria is determined not
to love Christopher again. After all, she loved him before and he
died, or at least she thought he had. She never again wants to go
through the pain that his death caused her. Although she willingly
gives him her body, she makes a point of telling him she will never
give him her love. To the domineering pirate this is yet just another
obstacle he feels he will break through, for he is in love with
Honoria and knows that although she won't admit it, she loves him
too. Christopher and Honoria will face many obstacles to find the
happiness they both seek, including Honoria's brother, who is after
the Mexican Gold he believes Christopher is going after.
The Care &
Feeding of Pirates is one fascinating adventuress book that
you will not want to miss. I found this book to be one magnificently,
fascinating well-written book. Ms. Ashley truly has a way of writing
a story that will easily grasp your attention from cover to cover.
