Dedication
by Janet Mullany
Adam Ashworth is concerned about a family member harboring a mistress
at the family home. Upon investigating he is reintroduced to Fabienne
Craigmont, the woman he loved and lost. Fabienne has married twice
since Adam and she's not a forgiving spirit. Although she's experienced
true passion in her life, her lust for revenge dominates her emotions
whenever he is around. She declines his advances. Instead she corresponds
with a famous romance writer. Their letters become intimate and revealing.
Adam is a widower with children and grandchildren. He is a part of
London's society, but seems to accept Fabienne's -- and her young
Ward's bohemian behavior. Maybe it's because Adam has a secret of
his own. Dedication is a regency romance written with
a little Bohemian flair. The characters openly discuss delicate
matters and what would be considered an unusual attraction in Regency
era is insinuated between two characters. The dialogue is a bit
more contemporary, as well. What kept me reading were the secrets
kept by both Fabienne and Adam. A bit contemporary for my taste,
but it all pulls together in the end and makes for a nice afternoon
read.
