Every Waking Moment
by Brenda Novak
Emma Wright, formerly known as Vanessa Beacon, had everything money could buy-a mansion,
expensive cars, designer clothes. She has also paid dearly for these materialistic comforts-no
freedom, no friends, no peace of mind. The father of her five-year-old son, with whom
she has lived, has grown increasingly controlling and abusive. Before he escalates further,
she must escape. After months of planning, the day has finally arrived. However, everything
that can go wrong does go wrong. Max's father learns too soon of Emma's intentions and
stays barely one step behind. His far-reaching network, his charisma and his violent propensities
ensnare most everyone that crosses Emma's path.
Preston Holman has lost everything-his son, his wife, his joy-after his best friend,
a doctor, intentionally infected and unintentionally killed his son, Jason Holman. Only
the need for revenge and the desire to save more families from similar grief gives Preston
a reason to rise every morning. The last thing he needs is a hitchhiker, no matter how
attractive she might be, with a needy son. Yet as he gleans knowledge of Emma's situation,
he realizes he cannot turn his back on her. She and Max shine light onto his gloomy world.
Their tangled worlds crash in an explosive climax. Will Emma break free of her obsessed
ex? Will Preston avenge his son's murder? Most importantly, will two people made for each
other be able to lay their pasts to rest and discover love in each other's arms? You must
read this exhilarating novel to find the answers.
Every Waking Moment is armchair aerobics. From the first page, author Brenda
Novak sent my heart racing, and she didn't allow more than a moment's rest. The plot twists
like yoga on speed. The characters are as tough, endearing and as well developed as personal
trainers. I groaned and sweated right along with them. One piece of advice: Don't forget
to breathe. Cooling-off periods are short and rare.
If you like love action-packed romance, don't miss Every Waking Moment! It's
a keeper that I'll read over and over. |
