Heart of the Dragon

by Gena Showlater

When Darius was eight, his entire family was slaughtered by humans. Since that day he has had only one reason for existence ... to kill every man, woman and child who enters Atlantis. He is a guardian of one of the portals between Earth and Atlantis.

Darius is a dragon warrior - a shape shifter who lives most of his life in human form. They are able to transform at will into true dragons.

Grace is trying to find her brother, Alex, who has been missing for weeks. Lost in the Amazon rainforest, Grace stumbles upon a cave. Hanging on the wall of the cave like a mirror is a pool of ice blue liquid. Reaching out to touch it, Grace is sucked into a whirling vortex. She finds herself in a new cave - one inhabited by a fierce warrior wielding a massive sword.

As Darius prepares to strike, he notices the vibrant red of Grace's hair. Stunned, he lowers his sword. For the first time in over three hundred years, he can see colors. Darius again prepares to strike, but the dragon medallion around Grace's neck catches his eye. These medallions are given to Atlantan dragon warriors when they reach manhood. They are never removed.

Darius must discover how Grace has come by this talisman. He carries her kicking and screaming to his apartment, where he will keep her captive until he discovers her secret. Needing to clear his head from her captivating scent, Darius leaves Grace alone.

Grace uses this opportunity to escape and finds her way back to the cave. Darius sees her step through the portal. As he prepares to pursue her, a messenger arrives. The portal on the other side of the island has been captured by humans and vampires.

Darius prepares for war. He must track Grace down and muster the courage to kill his only source of joy in more than three hundred years.

This story is filled with steamy sex, adventure, and a sprinkle of humor. It is a fantastic book!
