Ivona Knight, Vampyress
by Shannon Leigh
A
fierce raging storm has imprisoned a tavern full of unsavory characters.
To pass the time until the storm subsides, they exchange tall tales
of their many colorful adventures. One lone woman holds center stage
as she claims she is a vampyre. This one statement captures each individual's
attention as she reveals her painful story. Her revelation and her
painful tale of sorrow silences the noisy bar, as all ears are fixed
on the words that come straight from her heart. She tells it with
such heart-rending emotion that the listeners can almost feel her
pain through her descriptive passages. Unbeknownst
to those who listen to her sorrowful tale is that it is one of truth.
She has spent the last five hundred years in total darkness and
her heart is full of hatred towards the one who is responsible for
her life of loneliness. There is one in the audience who is familiar
with the circumstances of her existence. Her words penetrate deep
into his hardened heart and his soul demands that he answer her
call. Will she find friend or foe in this unorthodox mix? Will her
plans of revenge be the means to her untimely end?
Ivona Knight, Vampyress
is a spectacular book that radiates with deep, dark intriguing suspense.
It is true testament that good things DO come in small packages.
I can easily see this book as a wonderful introduction to future
books. I hope Ms. Leigh explores this subject further and I look
forward to revisiting these memorable characters. Very highly recommended.
