A
Man in a Kilt
By
Sandy Blair
Elizabeth
Pudding is a typical New Yorker, working at a posh hotel, when she
gets word that she has inherited Blackstone Castle on a island off
the coast of Scotland. She packs her bags and heads to her new home,
which is in major disrepair, and is infested with the ghost of Duncan
MacDougall.
Elizabeth
is unaware of the man who watches her, wondering at her ways and
habits, until one day she almost drowns, and in the twinkling of
an eye, she finds herself back in time and she is married to Duncan
MacDougall, the laird of Blackstone, who is very much alive and
well.
A
Man in a Kilt is a great romp not only through time, but also
through the hearts of two destined lovers, who have to find a way
to right the wrongs time has dealt them. It is a delight to watch
Beth, as she teaches the people in the castle how to "act civilly,"
and soon she is spinning tales for one and all that are so far-fetched
they could not possibly be true. Or are they? Duncan begins to almost
believe Beth's story to him that she is from a far distant, future
land.
Duncan
knows that the only way he can retain his rights to the land and
the castle is to produce an heir, but how does he do that when his
wife won't even let him into the same room with her-much less to
her bed.
This
is the funniest romance I have read since Sandra Hill's books on
the misplaced Viking. I look forward to a lot more books from this
delightful new author. Very highly recommended!
