My Favorite Witch

by Annette Blair

Kira Fitzgerald doesn't believe in commitment-not any more. Finding her fiancé in bed with her sister had torched her belief that some men could be faithful. Now, as far as she's concerned, male jocks are evil incarnate, especially hockey players. It wouldn't bother her in the least if all their body parts fell off. The world would be a better place without their ever-rising hockey sticks. Now, if she could just find a spell that would hasten the process.

Jason Pickering Goddard believes in only one thing-hockey. His career came to an abrupt halt when he injured his knee, but he will skate again--nothing or no one will stand in his way. Not his doting grandmother who railroads him into becoming the director of Special events for Pickering Foundation. If the foundation fails, Anthony's Home for Boys loses its benefactor. Okay, what the heck, he has a few months to kill, but he soon discovers his new assistant. An assistant with a seductive body, a head full of copper curls, and a magic wand that constantly threatens his manhood.

Kira is no happier than Jason about their boss-employee relationship, but she soon finds that Jason is nothing like her ex-fiancé. He actually gives more than a hockey puck about the orphans at St. Anthony's. Most of his ideas for raising money are excellent, and his slick but sexy moves on her body aren't bad either. The only drawback is, he has love-em and leave-em written all over his handsome face.

Jason is seduced and entranced by the take charge Kira. He finds out that his jaded take on women doesn't apply to Ms. Witch. The more they are together, the more he wants her, and when they become trapped inside a hidden staircase at one of the foundation's homes, he allows his hockey stick to do the talking for him.

Although I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading Ms. Blair's previous work, The Kitchen Witch, I can truthfully say My Favorite Witch can definitely stand alone. The witticisms, the sizzling love scenes, and the romance outweigh some inconsistencies in this delightful tale of magical love.
