Nothing More to Lose

By Kathryn Shay

On 9/11 the World Trade Center was attacked by a senseless act of terrorism. Firefighter Ian Woodward rushed into the fiery inferno to bring others to safety. Thousands perished on that horrific day. Their memory will always be a part of the lives of all who survived the devastation of the mass destruction that left a gaping hole in the hearts of everyone worldwide.

Ian was caught in the crossfire of the madness that engulfed the building. An overhead beam crashed down on him and pinned him to the ground. Luckily, he was able to summon help to rescue him from the wreckage. Unfortunately, the falling beam caused him to lose the use of his legs and confined him to the iron prison of a wheelchair. He knew his life would never be the same for he was forced to give up the job he lived for. Caught in a web of despair and depression he meets up and coming actress Lisle Loring. She refuses to allow him to wallow in the self pity that is threatening to rob him of his life. She challenges him to see that even though he has lost the use of his legs, there is so much more to him then being able to stand and walk. Their friendship deepens and she unexpectly confesses her love. He refuses to allow their relationship to grow, for he doesn't want her to be tied to a man who is confined to an iron prison. He refuses her advance, and that sends her packing.

Heartbroken, Lisle leaves to pursuer her acting career. Within two years, she is an overnight success on Broadway. Her popularity has put her in the limelight of millions. One obsessed fan makes her uncomfortable with her constant pursuit. When the fan's interest escalates to the point of stalking, Lisle fears for her safety and flees to the one place that she has always felt safe - Hidden Cove. Memories of her past come back to remind her what she lost the last time she was in the small town. She realizes that her next door neighbor is Ian Woodward. When she looks into his eyes, she discovers she still harbors feelings for him that never died. Can she convince him that their love deserves a second chance? Or is her presence endangering him, for there is someone out there who is watching her every move…

WOW - this book is absolutely a must have for any reader who appreciates a fast paced heart stopping romance. The author has developed characters that will jump right off the page into your heart. I am so impressed with Shay's skills that she has convinced me she is an author that I am going to add on my automatic buy list. As an added bonus, the secondary characters provide a heart warming romance that will offer double the romance in this highly addictive novel. Very highly recommended.
