Red-Hot
Cajun
By
Sandra Hill
Rene
LeDeux was an environmental lobbyist in Washington, DC. Fed up with
all the bureaucracy, he quit his job to return to his home in Louisiana.
Tante Lulu is Rene's feisty great aunt and a matchmaker extraordinaire.
For her birthday she wants Rene to get married. Enter Valerie Breaux.
Rene's
wacko friends kidnap Valerie and bring her deep into the bayou.
They plan to hold her captive until she agrees to make a documentary
for her TV show about the destruction of the swamp. The days pass
and Valerie find herself admiring both Rene's body and his brain.
Not only is he a hottie, but he is devoted to saving the bayou.
Valerie
agrees to do the documentary and the whole gang sets out on a swamp
tour. Meanwhile, Tante Lulu plans a surprise wedding for Rene and
Valerie coinciding with her 80th birthday.
Abandoned
by her father and emotionally abused by her mother, the thought
of a relationship terrifies Valerie. Before long, though, her attraction
overwhelms her fears. As they fall in love, Valerie and Rene face
problems that seem insurmountable. She's a city girl who loves Manhattan.
He's a bayou boy, who hates the big city. How will their lives ever
be able to mesh?
This
book is long on zany characters and incredibly steamy sex but somewhat
short on plot. It contains valuable information about the destruction
of the bayou. It is a sexy, funny book, but having an eventful plot
would have made it so much better.
