The
Truth About Love
A
Cynster novel
By
Stephanie Laurens
Once
again, Stephanie Laurens takes us to the world of the Cynster family
with Gerrard Debbington, brother-in-law of Vane Cynster. Gerrard
is an artist, but the last thing he wants to do is paint some doting
father's daughter. However, in order to paint the famous gardens
at Hellebore Hall, he must paint Lord Tregonning's daughter. After
being giving an ultimatum, Gerrard agrees to do the portrait.
His
first encounter with Jacqueline Tregonning leaves him sppechless
as he is captivated with her beauty. She is the one woman who has
captured his total attention. Not long after his arrival, Gerrard
learns that the Hellebore household is expecting more than just
a simple portrait. They are expecting the finished portrait to prove
with one glance that Jacqueline is innocent of the death of her
mother. Upon learning this, Gerrard is determined to paint the very
best painting he has ever done, for he knows that Jacqueline is
innocent. There is no way she can be guilty. Gerrard wants more
than just to prove her innocence; he wants Jacqueline for himself
and will do all he can to win her heart.
Jacqueline
has lived over a year with the whispers behind her back that she
had killed her own mother. Her father is not sure that she is innocent
either. Now with the help of her Aunt Millicent, they have brought
the most sought after artist to paint her portrait to prove her
innocence.
With
the secrets at Hellebore Hall, Gerrard and Barnaby set out determined
to prove Jacqueline's innocence. . However, the discovery of Jacqueline's
long missing beau Tom, in the gardens sets off a completely new
set of rumors in the small town. This time, with the help of Barnaby
and his special training in solving mysteries, there is proof that
Jacqueline could not have murdered Tom. Someone close to the family
had to have committed both murders. But who? In addition, how do
they flush him out?
Once
again Ms. Laurens gives fans a story that will keep your eyes glued
to the pages from the beginning till the end. With a magnificently
enthralling plot full of mystery and romance, The Truth About
Love is one book that you will definitely want to put on your
keeper shelf to read over and over again. As a big fan of the Cynster
Series, I recommend everyone that hasn't already read the other
books in this series, to grab these books and catch up on the Cynster
family. These books are most definitely worth reading.
As
a fan of Stephanie Laurens books, I can tell you that I am waiting
impatiently for the next installment of another great series The
Bastion Club #4 A Fine Passion, which is to be released in September
of 2005.
