Are You Afraid?

by Carla Cassidy

When she was sixteen, Jessica Langford was kidnapped and buried alive by a serial killer. Fortunately, she was rescued, but her attacker was never captured.

Eighteen years later, Jessica has moved on. Her life revolves around her young son and her radio show, "Are You Afraid of the Dark?". Through her show, she tries to help others overcome their fears and learn to survive.

All is well until an anonymous stranger calls into her show with intimate knowledge of what happened to Jessica all those years ago. Jessica is determined to find the mysterious caller and put an end to the nightmare that is becoming her life. After more harassing phone calls and a stalker, Jessica goes to Detective Jake Merridan for help.

The killer has been waiting all these years to finish his masterpiece and he is holding out for the perfect moment to take what he wants. Burnout cop Jake is the only one who stands between a calculating killer and his final revenge.

Are You Afraid? is a captivating murder mystery and sweet romance all tied up in one. This is the first novel I've read by this author, but I'm looking forward to diving into more. I recommend Carla Cassidy to anyone who loves a fast paced romantic suspense novel.
