Bayou Rhapsody
Hearts of Marshall's Bayou

by Sarah Storme

Return to Marshall's Bayou as Mahalia Strickler has returned home with her father the Judge. Although she does not plan to stay long, as a modern woman of the 1920's there is too much of the world she wants to see.

Daniel Griffin has been sent to Marshall Bayou as the new preacher of The Methodist Church. Exiled from Atlanta by the Bishop, he has to make this his home for the next three years. It does not take long after arriving before Daniel takes a shine to Mahalia (Mae), who is considered the bad girl of the Bayou. Much to his own surprise Daniel does not care what the gossips say or threaten. He just knows he has found a woman he can love.

Mae is determined not to ruin Daniel's life, so she plans to leave as soon as possible. Even though she has fallen hard for the preacher, she believes she has to leave to save him from himself. When tragedy strikes, Mae proves what Daniel has thought since he first met her, that she is the perfect person to stand by his side as a preacher's wife.

Bayou Rhapsody is another book by Ms. Storme that will definitely go on my keeper shelf. I read this book in one sitting, as I was unable to put it down. Each character just jumps off the pages as the story unfolds, as you are pulled into the story. Ms. Storme proves once again what an amazing writer she is with this magnificent tale of the bad girl of the Bayou falling in love with the preacher.
