Bond of Blood
A Novel of Texas Vampires

by Diane Whiteside

For several centuries, medieval Spanish knight, Don Rafael Perez, has walked the earth as a vampire. His mighty powers have earned him the honor of being head of the largest vampire region in all of North America. With this coveted title he is faced with the challenge to keep his race strong and alert to all of the dangers that constantly threaten their existence.

Wildlife Veterinarian Grania O’Malley left her California home to work at Hill County Raptor Center in Texas. She feels that the establishment will help her conduct her specialized in-depth research and also help in finding a suitable mate. Although she is a stranger to matters of the heart, she feels her keen research abilities will assist her in her quest.

One night while Grania is hiking in the woods, she stumbles upon a strange mating ritual. Her eyes can hardly believe that she is seeing there before her a man who is deeply engaged in a primitive sexual act that ends in taking the blood of his partner. The scene is like watching an erotic novel play out before her very eyes. As the drama unfolds, Grania feels as though she is the sexy woman caught under the powerful hips of the dominate male. His passion bleeds into her soul, for he is hers to command. Is this real or is this fantasy? Will her dreams somehow be turned into reality?

Bond of Blood is the type of book that scorches the reader’s hands. The sexual scenes sizzle right off the page and deep into the reader’s mind. This book should come with a warning label, "Reader beware: this one could be hazardous to your health."

One drawback for me was that almost half the book is written in unfamiliar Spanish phrases, although the author has provided a glossary that guides the readers. Those who seek an electrifying, pulse beating sexually explicit experience should definitely add this title to their must-read list.
