Mary Lisa Beverly left her small hometown of Goddard Bay to become one of the biggest soap-opera stars in daytime
TV. She even has three daytime Emmys for her role of Sunday in Born to Be Wild. After being hit by a car,
Mary Lisa decides to take a few days off to visit home, even though she knows it will be a total mess. After all,
she has not been home since her boyfriend dumped her and married her older sister, and her mother never misses an
opportunity to put Mary Lisa down.
After meeting her younger sister’s ex-boyfriend, District Attorney John Goddard, Mary Lisa decides it is time
to go home to Malibu, for she cannot do to her younger sister what her older sister did to her. However, before
she leaves, she discusses her troubles with John; never thinking he would go on to tell them to the last person
she would want to know about her life: Police Chief Jack Wolf.
Even with all her friends around her, trouble still seems to be dogging Mary Lisa’s heels. It seems no one can
figure out who is trying to get rid of her. She certainly never expected to see Jack at her door, but it seems John
has told him of her troubles and asked him to check into things. She still can't believe he's there, since he has
always made it clear how he felt about her. Including when he left her in jail all night.
Jack is just doing a favor for a friend, as he already has plenty of trouble in Goddard Bay with an unsolved murder.
However, when he discovers that Mary Lisa is truly being threatened, he will do all he can to keep her safe. Although
he never plans to love again, he still cannot resist the beautiful, playful Mary Lisa.
Born to Be Wild is another magnificent book from one of the greatest authors today. With a very exciting
plot and a story within the story, this will be one book that you will not want to miss. I could not put this one
down until I finished as I was pulled into the story from the first. Ms. Coulter has once again given her fans one
of the greatest books of the year.
