by Lani Diane Rich This story, The Comeback Kiss, is absolutely wonderful. It is a sweet story about the importance of family, be it untraditional, and past love and new love. Tessa Scuderi has been telling lies in order to keep custody of her younger sister, Izzy. When Dermot Finnegan comes back into town, that could possibly change and the story that unfolds after Finn saves the inhabitants of a burning pet store is endearing and suspenseful. The very interesting characters and the town of Lucy's Lake and its townspeople are all puzzle pieces in finding out what happened when Tessa's mom died years ago. Is there really a connection with the newest fire? Her curious younger sister starts poking around and trying to figure out if it was something malicious that caused her mom to drive off from her burning shop, dazed by the smoke. One of Tessa's fabrications leads her little sister to believe that Finn is a private investigator and Izzy hires him to find out what happened. The mystery and the motive are very cleverly written. I loved this book and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and thrilling read. |
