Even Vampires Get the Blues

by Katie MacAlister

Moravian Dark One, Paen Scott, lives a lonely life -for he is a vampire without a soul. He is the only one in his family who has to suffer this empty existence. The only way to break free of his curse would be for him to find his beloved. She alone would have the power to break through the evil that holds his soul prisoner. He is convinced that he will have to live out eternity as a soulless creature, for the possibility of finding true and lasting love is highly unlikely.

Upon the arrival of Casper Green, Paen is presented with a dilemma that must be resolved. It involves paying one of his Father's long overdue debts. The Demon has been sent to collect a statue of the Jiln God. He demands the score must be settled in five days or Paen's mother's soul will be taken as payment. He wouldn't wish his soulless existence on anyone, and knows he needs help in order to find the ancient relic.

In desperation, he arrives on Samantha Crosses doorstep. Samantha is a half-breed human elf who has recently opened her own Private Investigation firm with her purebred faire cousin, Clare. The two were recommended with high praise as being experts at locating lost items. Samantha finds herself instantly attracted to Paen. His dark, soulless eyes penetrate straight to her heart. She agrees to help him find the lost statue. Secretly, she vows to find the one thing that will make him whole -his soul.

Katie MacAlister has written a very entertaining paranormal book. The characters' quirky habits will have you laughing out loud as they experience each one of their many adventures. This author offers a fresh new voice to the paranormal world. I predict with each book she generates her name will be firmly cemented in this highly addictive genre. Very highly recommended.
