I’m the Vampire, That’s Why

by Michelle Bardsley

One day you’re a perfectly normal single mom and the next you’re a fang-sprouting, blood-drinking vampire. What could be worse - unless it’s telling your kids that dear old mom has a date with the graveyard shift.

Jessica Matthews’ life in small town Oklahoma is mundane. Grocery shopping, P.T.A., and taking care of her children is about all the excitement she gets until one night she takes the garbage out and ends up as dinner for a nocturnal creature. The next thing she knows she’s lipped locked to a handsome vamp’s thigh and wanting revenge on the monster that turned her into a mom with elongated teeth.

Patrick O’Halloran isn’t quite sure how the beautiful housewife became attached to his limb but her magnificent lips are giving him a rise that just won’t quit. Once he’s released from the chains that keep him from turning into a lust-ridden creature and prevent him from claiming Jessica as his soul mate, he begins to teach her what being a vampire is all about. And in his spare time he must convince his one and only love that his brother didn’t use her as an entrée.

Jessica doesn’t know what to believe. Patrick of the Irish lilt and bedroom eyes is convincing but if his brother Lorcan didn’t do the dastardly deed then who is the creature ravishing the citizens of Broken Heart? If she didn’t already have enough on her plate to flood a blood bank, Patrick’s former and highly jealous lover wants to turn her into a pile of ashes.

Ms. Bardsley has penned a fantastic and humorous paranormal that puts a new spin on vampires. Romantic and hot enough to turn a vampire into a fiery mass, this unique tale will have readers who love a book with a bite clamoring for more tales from the vamp-side.
