Midnight Secrets

by Jennifer St. Giles

Cassiopeia "Cassie" Andrews and her cousin Mary have always shared an inseparable bond. The two were as close as any two sisters could have been. One night Cassie's dreams turn into a nightmare as she watches horrified as her cousin meets with her untimely death. She awakes from her dream with a sense of great loss and sadness.

Cassie's dreams turn into a reality when she receives word from Mary's mother that she is presumed dead, and her body was washed away at sea. Cassie knows that her cousin had a fear of water and would never go voluntarily near it. Her death leaves many unanswered questions, and Cassie is determined to find an answer to each one of them. She journeys to Dartmoors End where Mary was last employed at the Kildaren estate. To gain an up close and insider look at the establishment, she poses as a chambermaid. The disguise will enable her to see what secrets the walls hide.

Sean Kildaren is a man who walks in darkness and is cursed by fate. His destiny is entwined with his twin brother. Although the two were born together, they live far apart, for a curse has been set against them that one will meet death by the other's hand. A ray of sunshine comes in the form of Cassie Andrews. He can see she is more than a common maid. By succumbing to her charms, he fears he will be placing her life in danger. As the past comes to the present, and secrets are revealed, will it endanger their growing attraction?

Jennifer St. Giles is to be commended on her authentic gothic romance. Her writing voice revolves around the legendary greats of years past. Her dark, edgy words will penetrate deep within your skin and travel up your spine as each one serves its own purpose. This book is an outstanding tribute to an author who knows how to give the very best to her fans. Very highly recommended.
