My Dearest Friend

by Hazel Statham

Robert Blake, The Duke of Lear's life changes with the death of his young brother Stefan. Robert blames himself, as he is the one who paid his brother's commission. He leaves London suddenly and plans to remain in the country for a few days. Soon his few days have turned into weeks as he tries to come to terms with his brother's death.

Jane Chandler must find a way to get to Portugal to bring her brother home. Knowing that he had served with Stefan, she requests Robert's help, never imagining that he would actually make the trip with her. After all, she is an independent woman who has never relied on anyone else.

Neither ever imagined that they would find true love together, but that is exactly what happens. However after their marriage, Robert's jealousy threatens to rip the couple apart. Can their love find a way?

My Dearest Friend is a magnificently well-written story of love and the obstacles that can come between two people when they fall in love. As things from the past threaten to destroy their happiness, the couple will have to learn to let go and trust in the love they have for each other. Ms. Statham has truly given readers an enjoyable and relaxing read that will have you glued to the pages from the beginning until the end.
