Mysteria

by MaryJanice Davidson, Susan Grant, P. C. Cast, Gena Showalter

Many years ago a small band of settlers with unusual abilities were saved from starvation by an unlikely hero... a demon lord. Rather than destroy them, he created a haven. Thus the little town of Mysteria was founded. Over time it became a Mecca for magical creatures from all across the land.

"Mortal in Mysteria" by Susan Grant

Rev. Harmony Faithful is the only human in Mysteria with no particular magical abilities. One day she finds a naked man asleep in her garden. Damon is the demon lord who founded the town. He enjoyed his good deeds so much that he continued doing them on the sly. But Lucifer ultimately caught on. After centuries of torture, he has decided on Damon’s final punishment. Damon’s immortality is revoked. He’s banished from Hell and sent to live in Mysteria.

Damon and Harmony fall in love. But what chance do a preacher and a reformed demon have at eternal love? Especially with Satan’s minions appearing on the scene.

"Alone Wolfe" by Mary Janice Davidson

Cole Jones is a werewolf. Orphaned as a baby, he was raised by a human foster mother. When he was grown she urged him to find his own kind. He settled in Mysteria and met Charlene Houtenan. She wants to have a baby more than anything.

Will Cole mate with Charlene and give up his dream of finding his pack? Or will he leave Charlene behind and continue his search alone?

"The Witches of Mysteria and the Dead Who Love Them" by Gena Showalter

Hunter Knight is a psychic. He had a vision warning him that getting romantically involved with Genevieve will mean his death. Unfortunately, all he can think about is making love to Genevieve. He can’t have her but he doesn’t want anyone else to have her either. So he strings her along. Flirting one minute and giving her the cold shoulder the next.

Genevieve has finally had enough.   She will have her man for at least one night of passion. After that who knows.... Genevieve takes a love potion and sets out on a hunt for Hunter.

Will Hunter be able to resist Genevieve or will she be the death of him?

"Cindy Cox and the Big Bad (Were) Wolf" by P. C. Cast

High school teacher Candice Cox is sick of Mysteria. And after five husbands, she’s sick of men too. She’s sworn off men and is planning to move to Denver. Then a former student, who has grown into a sexy werewolf, arrives on the scene. Can Justin convince Candy to give love one more try?

This is a surprising collection of stories. Three of them are very erotic and one of them is more traditional. The headlining author has the shortest story and relative newcomer, Gena Showalter, has the most interesting. This is a very enjoyable anthology.
