The Queen in Winter

by Lynn Kurland, Sharon Shinn, Claire Delacroix, Sarah Monette

The Queen in Winter is a paranormal romance anthology. The authors are all well known, best selling, award winning talents. The romances are filled with warm-hearted heroines, handsome heroes and chilling adversaries.

A Whisper of Spring
A wizard helps to save an elf woman from his evil brother. A ride back to the borders draws a magical line of love or loss. Only she can decide which it will be. Author has a great talent for keeping the reader in suspense.

When Winter Comes
Mortal siblings travel to and fro to hide and protect the magical son of one. Both work and sacrifice to survive and there is one too many close calls. How much more can they endure? Where's a hero or two when you need 'em? Sweet ending. Seemed to go on a bit longer than needed, but was still a good read.

The Kiss of the Snow Queen
A rebellious woman is drawn to a magical fog of power and a vision of a handsome warrior being dragged off to a cave. She must save him, but doesn't see herself as a warrior but a woman. Both are in need of saving. Who ends up saving who? Good read. Strong characters.

A Gift of Wings
Former lovers travel the mountains in the snow. He's ill. She wants him back to his former glory. It's a journey destined to heal or harm. A lot of weather and wondering. Good read, though.

It's an eclectic mix. Some written in first person and some in third person. Mildly adventurous to a bit slow in the storyline. All in all a good read. And who can resist a good paranormal romance.
