Secrets of the Highwayman
by Sara Mackenzie
Melanie Jones, a London solicitor, does everything by the book. She likes her life nice, neat and very orderly.
She makes a plan and sticks to it. If she hadn’t, she would never have risen to the position she now holds with
the prestigious law firm. She has reason to believe she can rise even higher if she finishes this one task in her
normally efficient manner. All she has to do is ready the ancient Ravenswood Estate for sale.
The house is not exactly what she expects. Neither is meeting the ghost of Nathaniel Raven, Highwayman and
past owner of Ravenswood. Little does she know that meeting a ghost would seem almost normal in comparison to the
evil she discovers within and without Ravenswood and herself. The past influences the future, a truth brought home
to Melanie in myriad ways.
Just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, Ms. Mackenzie threw another curve; I ended up reading the
book in one sitting. Nathaniel is a hero worthy of the title. |
