Shadow of the Moon

by Rebecca York

Through the castle walls secrets are hidden and , souls are taken.. . .

Savannah Carpenter’s world is turned upside down when she is informed that her sister Charlotte has been gravely injured and is lying in a hospital bed in a coma. Her sister is one who has always walked on the wild side of life. Her taste for the dark side has placed her in many dangerous situations over the years. It looks as though her luck may have finally run out as she is fighting to regain consciousness. Savannah is determined to find out what events led up to her sister’s accident. Her investigations lead her to the rich and elite Club Eighteen. The establishment is better known to its customers as ‘The Castle’. The castle walls almost reek of the smell of the many sinister activities that are taking place there. Wanting to get an up-close look, Savannah decides to camp outside and take photos of the clubs many visitors. She is caught in the act by the club’s Security Guards who begin to chase her down. Running for her life, her salvation comes in the form of a wolf. Through the creature’s eyes, she sees a soul that calls out to her heart.

Lance Marshall is one of Washington’s top Investigative Reporters. His success is attributed to a secret he is harboring. It revolves around the fact that he is a werewolf. This unique characteristic allows him to go unnoticed into areas that he would not be able to gain access to in human form. His keen senses tell him ‘The Castle’ is more than what meets the eyes. Its location alone is enough to raise question about its true intent, for it is located in a private secluded forest. When he feels someone’s life is in danger he morphs into wolf form to save them. His instincts lead him to Savannah Carpenter. The danger she is in has him kicking his powers into overdrive to keep her safe. As he manages to save her life, he knows before him is the woman that is about to rock his world.

With each book that I read of Rebecca York’s I find yet another winning combination of high action drama, heart stopping romance, and nail biting intrigue. This author’s talent truly shines each time she picks up a pen and writes another memorable book. Fans of the paranormal genre will be highly pleased. Those that have never experienced one should make this book a good starting place. Highly recommended.
