Taken By Storm

by Donna Fletcher

Burke Longstan had made a promise to his deceased father, one that he had every intention of keeping. It involved finding his lost brother Cullen who had been left behind in Scotland. The search would take him far from his homeland in America to the country of Scotland. Through his search, he was unexpectedly captured and found himself imprisoned in a Scottish prison.

As her name suggests, Storm is a force of nature, who crashes the prison walls to help free the captives. The spirited lass accompanied by her motley crew and sharp sword rescues the prisoners. Through her actions she discovers Burke Longstan among those that are being held captive. He is unlike the other prisoners, for he puts aside his one chance at freedom to stay behind and ensure she gets out safely. Together they flee the compound and escape to the outside world.

When Burke’s ship arrives he invites Storm to travel with him in search of his missing brother. She agrees but makes it clear she is the one in charge. They hear of a prisoner being held at the home of an Earl. Immediately they assume it is Burke’s long lost brother. Storm has mixed feelings about finding Burke’s brother, for she knows once he is found Burke will return to America. Working together has brought back feelings she thought had died with her husband. She fears to act on what her heart is telling her will only lead to a lonely future.
