Too Great A Temptation

by Alexandra Benedict

Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom aren’t the only sexy pirates sailing dangerous waters. Meet Damian Westmore, Duke of Wembury, nicknamed the "Duke of Rogues" for his lifestyle of lust and debauchery. Technically, Damian is now a reformed rogue, and is only sailing on a pirate ship in order to exact revenge on the pirates who killed his brother. But he’s definitely sexy - or at least that’s how he appears to Mirabelle Hawkins, sister of the four pirating brothers responsible for the death of Damian’s brother. Being together on board a pirate ship with strict orders to stay away from each other only makes it that much more tempting for Damian and Belle to sneak off and explore his former lifestyle. In fact, it’s too great a temptation for them to withstand.

When they aren’t dodging attacks from other ships, or denying their tempestuous relationship to her overprotective brothers, Damian and Belle are indulging in sexual pleasures in every nook and cranny of the boat. Belle willingly loses her virginity to Damian, and he ends two years of celibacy to find out more about the mind (and especially the body) of the murdering pirates’ sister. They both planned the affair, but neither planned on falling in love. Although it follows the pattern of a traditional romance, Too Great A Temptation offers a few surprises along the way.

This historical romance, set in 1821, with a prologue from 1819, is a fun, well-told story with excitement and danger, as both characters have much to lose from their relationship. The many sex scenes are often graphic, ranging from poetic states of arousal to coarse descriptions of consummation and unsated lust. Sexually speaking, there’s something for everybody here.
